“Choose Change Before Change Chooses You”
Most of us are struggle with change. We get comfortable in what we know, and as long as we keep ourselves unaware of our continued discomfort we survive. The truth is though, that change will eventually come and the longer it has to gain energy usually the bigger the consequence. Let’s look consider this as an example: if someone knows they are have a high chance of heart disease but do not want to change their habits of eating poorly and not exercising, change will eventually occur. It could be a heart attack, a stroke,or worse. However, if this person chooses the best methods for them to find health, they stand a chance of creating the changes they want. The same goes for our romantic lives, our careers, our parenting or friendship.
There’s a magic question we therapists like to ask: If I could wave a magic wand, how would your life be different?
Consider this question when you think about your relationships(family, friends and romantic). How about your career? Your finances? Your spirituality? You experience of everyday life?
I’d love to hear your responses!
